Discount Cards Are Profitable and Make Easy Work of Raising Money For Your Organization

Sports teams, schools, church youth groups and other non-profit organizations have relied on discount cards for years when it comes time to raise money for various needs.  One reason discount cards have been around so long is because they are such a good product; their value makes them easy to sell, and they offer large profit margins to the organizations who use them in their fundraising efforts.

There are many other great products out there that have also been around for decades, including jerky, candy bars, candles, popcorn and catalog sales.  What makes discount cards stand out from these other well-known products when it comes to raising money for your group?  Value, plain and simple.  For the past 3 years, the U.S. economy has been in a slump; few people have extra money to spend, and when they do spend it on something besides the mortgage or groceries they want to be sure they are getting the best possible value for their money.

When compared to discount cards, candy bars really don't offer much in the way of value other than the taste and immediate gratification factors.  They're gone in a flash, while discount cards offer savings and buy-one-get-one free offers that are good for one year from the time the customer purchases the card.  Another reason people love these cards is because the discounts are available at their own local merchants, in their own area.  These savings may be enjoyed at your local McDonald's or Domino's Pizza, or at a sporting goods store, auto care facility or other merchant that is unique to your own community.  If you can imagine how much the savings could potentially add up to for a family of 4 over a year's time, you can see how the savings would be substantial.

With discount cards, the profit margins increase the higher volume of cards you order.  For example, if you were to order 300 cards you enjoy a 50% profit margin; however, if you order 1,000 cards your profit margin increases to 100%.  Depending upon the size of your group or organization and how much money you need to raise, you can see how profitable these cards are.  In fact, there is no other fundraising item we know of that allows you to raise the amount of money possible with discount cards in such a quick, easy manner.  There is little planning involved, and since selling is so easy you can literally raise thousands of dollars in just a few weeks' time.

Even if you only have a small group, the profits are astounding.  Here is a quick example.

Suppose you have 25 people in your church youth group that will be participating in the fundraising.  On average, most people can easily sell 10 cards, some people even more.  By ordering 250 discount cards and selling them all, your youth group has made $1,250 - this is easy money, and selling 10 cards hardly puts anyone under pressure.  How long would it take you to raise that kind of money using other methods, and how much more hard labor and time would be involved?  You have to consider all of the aspects and not just the product itself when it comes to fundraising, as time is money and many people don't want to get involved if there is a lot of work or planning to be done.

Although discount cards have been around for a long time, you can see why you should give them a try if you haven't already.  Incredible profits, value that the customer can easily see (which makes for an easy sell), and increased business for the merchants in your own community.  What could be better than that?
